Indonesia word, first time was introduced by George Samuel Earl, the UK, to name the group of islands in the Indian Ocean. However, scientists with the European call it as Melayunesia.
J.R. Logan, the UK, in the magazine journal of the Indian Archipelago and Eastern Asia (Volume IV, 1850:24) mentioned the idea of island in Indian Ocean as Indonesian. Then, Adolf Bastian, a German, in his book Indonesian Order die Inseen des Malaysichien Archipel use Indonesia word to mention the name of islands scattered in the The India Ocean.
